Special events seem to run in groups- First it's Christmas, then a week later is New Years and Norm's b-day, nine days later is Dan's b-day, Cindy's is Jan 25th and Mom & Kate's share Feb 24th as their day of birth.
We decided to do all four birthdays at once
and make a special weekend of it.
and make a special weekend of it.
My favorite part of this picture is how awkward Randy looks trying to stay out of the way.
Cindy made a Funfetti Cake with Rainbow Chip frosting for Kate, a Lemon Meringue Pie for Dad which followed an exquisite tri-tip feed with all the trimmings.
We had such a special time. Mike and Kate gave Cindy a birdhouse (that Mike made!) and Mom and Dad found a 1950's "Better Homes and Garden Cookbook." An iconic American essential!
The night was made even more fun by the helicopters flying overhead at 2am while police sirens went screaming by. Needless to say, we were very sleepy at church the next day, but we still had more celebrating to do!
So in love!
A group met up at the Old Ship in Santa Ana- a British Pub that is one of Cindy's favorite places in the world. Lot's of laughter, old and new friends, and some yummy rack of lamb made a fabulous night.
Mom and Dad loved the place (said they'd be back for sure)
Gotta love them :-)
Carpool Buddies! We spent many a college day at this pub...
Annie and Eric- so special
Yorkshire pudding and rack of lamb- tasted better than it looked
All that fun and it wasn't even Cindy's real birthday yet!
